GREAT NEWS

After consultation with Dr Janey we have now reached the stage where we can begin reducing Kodi's MMS treatment and continue with a maintenance programme.

We are now giving him 9 drops of MMS twice a day which is a lot easier on him (and on us).

The diet we have all three of them on is now a way of life. We could never conceive of going back to the old routine of commercially bought dog food and I think they would turn their noses up at it in horror.  They love their free range, chemical and hormone free chicken, rice and veggies and Mom's home made pellets. The added cumin gives it a lovely flavour and it smells divine when it is cooking.

Quite often when we have cooked up a batch we will have exactly the same on our plates. (Excluding the pellets although they are also very tasty).

When we first started this programme it seemed like a huge amount of work but we have a routine and now it all just falls into place quite naturally.

When friends and family visit they cannot believe the result we have had with Kodi. They saw him when the tumour was growing - that huge ugly bulbous mass bulging out of his mouth.  And now you would never even know it was ever there.

Looking at these pictures it's hard to believe how it looked.





Kodi is like a teenager again. He has trimmed down and has boundless energy and drives his brothers crazy because he wants to play all the time.

It is hard to believe that this is the dog we would have had to put down long before Christmas.

For anyone who is unfortunately facing the dreaded diagnosis of cancer in their pet - I hope this blog holds out a beacon of hope. We were very sceptical at the outset but we really had nothing to lose by going this route and now, seeing the results with our own eyes, we firmly believe in the relevance of  holistic treatment for cancer.

We are ordinary people with a very modest income and the MMS treatment is thankfully not expensive at all. We also come out on the plus side by making our own meals for the dogs as opposed to purchasing commercial dog food.

A New Year and ALL IS WELL!

I hope everyone has had a good break and all best wishes for a healthy, happy and peaceful 2014.

  
Kodi continues to amaze us. There is no visible sign that he ever had that terrible tumour. He is healthy, happy and energetic. We continue with his treatment and I hope to be able to post a maintenance schedule next Friday after we have consulted with Dr Janey who should be back from her well deserved break.

The flea problem persists in this hot weather. The natural remedies I have tried work to a degree but do not eradicate the problem.  We would sincerely appreciate any suggestions.

Kodi has always suffered from a grass allergy and with the summer comes the mowing of lawns and he has started scratching.  Would love to hear from anyone with suggestions for a natural remedy for this.

The dogs are loving their diet of chicken, rice and vegetables and their homemade pellets.  The food smells wonderful cooking and tastes equally as good and we have the satisfaction of knowing that everything they eat is natural, chemical and hormone free and good for them.

It's off to the vet this week to be weighed.  He has done well I am sure.  He looks much sleeker and is so much more agile. He runs rather than waddles!

Not much to report today - so I guess no news is good news.

We have the very best Christmas gift.  A happy, healthy Kodi.  11 weeks ago we really did not expect him to be here this Christmas.

The tumour is now completely invisible to the naked eye and Kodi seems well and energetic.

We continue with the treatment until the New Year when Dr Janey returns from leave and will then discuss a maintence programme for him.

 Progress continues to be excellent and to the naked eye there is really no visible sign of the tumour

Summer has arrived in the Southern Hemisphere and with it comes the pesky flea and tick problem.

We cannot use anything chemical or toxic  on Kodi and unfortunately he is very sensitive to flea bites.

I found these remedies on Facebook which use natural products and will try out both to see if we have any success.

Repellent for your pets:

For pets, add 1 cup of water to a spray bottle, followed by 2 cups of distilled white vinegar. Ticks hate the smell and taste of vinegar, and will be easily be repelled by this ingredient alone. Then, add two spoonfuls of vegetable or almond oil, which both contain sulfur (another natural tick repellent).

To make a repellent that will also deter fleas, mix in a few spoonfuls of lemon juice, citrus oil, or peppermint oil, any of which will repel ticks and fleas while also creating a nicely scented repellent. Spray onto the pet's dry coat, staying away from sensitive areas including eyes, nose, mouth, and genitals. When outdoors for an extended period, spray this solution on two to three times per day.

Flea & Tick Remedy

8 oz apple cider vinegar
4 oz warm water
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda

Mix dry ingredients first then slowly add to wet as the vinegar and baking soda will react slightly. Put into spray bottle and spray pets down. Be careful not to get in pets eyes.

Nine weeks ago to the day we started on this journey with Kodi. He had been diagnosed with a Squamous Cell Carcinoma on his mandible - a progressive, rapid growing tumour. The only treatment available was to remove a large section of his jaw followed by radiotherapy and chemo. The longevity stats after such  a radical approach were not good. It was a route we were not prepared to travel. We had sadly come to the conclusion to keep him as comfortable as possible for as long as possible and when the time came, we would know.

Through one of those amazing coincidences in life we met Dr Janey Little who was visiting Vets in our area to inform them of her programme for treating cancer.  She examined Kodi and assured us that her treatment programme would be beneficial.

Although initially slightly sceptical - we had absolutely nothing to lose and decided to comit ourselves 100% to the programme.

Followers of this blog will know that this has not been easy.  2 hourly treatments, cooking hormone and chemical free meals and adhering to a complete detox of his body and his environment has taken a huge amount of dedication and perseverance - but we have done it gladly.

The result has been astounding.

We were not asked to put up this blog and it is not our intention to promote or advertise any person or product.  It has simply been a chart of our own experience following this programme - whatever the outcome.  It is our hope that this may help others who find themselves in a similar position. Details of the treatment and diet are included in previous posts on this blog.

We are continuing on a maintenance programme and will take guidance from Dr Janey as to how to proceed long term.

This week we did another trip to Elgin to the Elgin Chicken Factory Shop to up stock on Kodi's free range, hormone and chemical free chicken. Came back with a boot load full. Thank goodness for this resource in our area!

Friends of ours popped in who have not seen Kodi for a good few weeks.  They were totally amazed and proclaimed it a miracle!

Gunter managed to get a good photo of him with his mouth open. There is still just the smallest "blister" on his gum which will hopefully disappear over the next few weeks.

We continue with the 2 hourly treatment until all visible signs have gone and can then start reducing the frequency and then the dosage.

The difference in Kodi is amazing.  Not just in the reduction of the tumour but in himself.  He is back to the cheeky boy we are used to and is full of bounce and energy.

We took him to the parlour this week to be bathed and to have a trim and he is looking splendid.
We took our own natural herbal aloe vera shampoo and did not have him dipped.

It is becoming more difficult to take photos of the actual site of the origin of the tumour as his lips are now back in their normal position and it has almost disappeared completely.

Well I have to say it.  Any initial scepticism about the effectiveness of this treatment on my part has been completely obliterated! And never have I been so happy to admit to being wrong.

The results are truly miraculous.

6 weeks ago we had prepared ourselves for the worst.

Kodi's tumour was growing daily and was about to over take his whole jaw and his teeth. An operation was not possible -other than to remove his whole lower jaw and we were not prepared to go the chemo and radiotherapy route having seen what this has done to many of our human family and friends.  He would then be unable to eat.  And we would  have to face the inevitable.
Below is a short video taken of Kodi this morning.

In six weeks we have gone from :-

A truly remarkable achievement.

After disucssion with Dr Janey we are now reducing to 10 drops of MMS to 50 drops of activator twice a day.  Once the tumour has completely disappeared we will then take it down to 6 drops of MMS to 30 drops of activator twice a day.  We will keep on on this maintenance course for a period of time and of course stick to his chemical and hormone free diet.

Our heartfelt thanks to Dr Janey Little.  Our meeting was such a happy coincidence and we will always be grateful.
